Our Pastor

The Rev. Dr. Steve Artz became Pastor on July 14th, 2003. Pastor Steve, the son of an Air Force couple, realized his calling to the ministry at a young age while serving as a counselor at a Billy Graham Crusade. Ordained in 1966, he received his Pastoral Ministry degree from Moody Bible Institute and a B.S. in Communications from Western Michigan University. He received his Doctor of Divinity degree in 2006. Pastor Steve served as Head of Staff of First United Presbyterian Church, Hillsdale, MI prior to his arrival. He previously served as Associate Pastor of Presbyterian churches in Bakersfield and Fresno, CA. and performed missionary work as a New Church Development Pastor in France for 14 years.
Pastor Steve and his wife, Jerie, have two sons, Tim who is married and resides in Chicago and Phil who resides in Grand Rapids, and a daughter, Stephanie who is studying Social Work and International Development at Calvin College. Pastor Steve's mother resides with him and Jeri.
