Our Church

Founded in 1823, the First United Presbyterian Church of Collinsville has
the distinction of being the oldest Presbyterian Church in continuous
existence in Madison County, IL and the sixth oldest in the State of
Illinois. Our church is a member of the Giddings-Lovejoy Presbytery,
Mid-America Synod of the Presbyterian Church USA.
We continue our long heritage of obedient service to God through the
sharing of the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ. With a congregation
of approximately 350 members the church provides a wide range of services
and activities. Both traditional and contemporary worship services are
offered. Community outreach programs include a Community Thrift Shop,
housing and support to the Community Food Pantry, hosting and supporting the
annual Ministerial Association Christmas Toy Give-Away, a televised worship
service for shut-ins and the community, and active support to the Community
Meals-On-Wheels program. Individual and family counseling services are
available. These activities together with our music ministry, strong
Christian Education Program, Presbyterian Women's Group, Youth Program,
social events for all ages, and a dedicated staff and congregation offer an
excellent opportunity for families and individuals to grow and live in
Christian Fellowship.
